Samsung i8910 Omnia HD

Looks like big mobile companies are trying to kill us without a knife. Just wrote about old CPU in forthcoming Nokia N97, as new information about its competitor - Samsung i8910 Omnia HD leaked.

Sad news and Samsung has already confirmed it: this touchscreen monster with OLED display, Wi-Fi, GPS and HD (!) video will record sound only to bad quality 8 kHz AMR files! Amazing surprise, isn't it?! Imagine, you go out to the club or concert and want to record a video movie of that - you have perfect HD picture, but almost no sound at all! It is hard even to understand, what people are talking about in these old AMR files.

The possible reason is that phone CPU cannot handle both high quality video and sound. But, Samsung authorities have not still confirmed, whether there will be 44.1 kHz sound in D1 or VGA modes. In these modes, video recording is not so "CPU eating" and good sound should be possible.

Many potential buyers are now stating that they will not buy Samsung Omnia HD till this ridiculous issue is resolved at least for lower quality videos.

I hope Samsung will do its best and set the world on fire with his new Omnia. It has already appeared in UK stores and will soon be in US as well.

Samsung i8910 Omnia HD for $579.99!
